Arkansas Children's Hospital (ACH) is one of the newest Charter Members with the SBNCA.  We recently spoke with Joe Knight, the Environmental Management Coordinator for ACH, to find out what types of green or sustainability initiatives they have underway.

We found out that ACH is growing its recycling program.  ACH is currently "recycling paper generated from the destruction of confidential documents, recycling and reusing Xylene in the Histology lab, and recycling electronics waste, rechargeable batteries, lead batteries, and mercury containing lamps (including green-tip)," according to Knight.  In addition to recycling, Knight tells us that ACH utilizes "6 electric vehicles for the transport of visitors and internal delivery of supplies and is focused on the reduction of medical waste generation through the use of reusable sharps containers."

Way to grow green, ACH!
